Sid first played paintball in 1987 on a teambuilding day with his work in Dumfires....way back when pump-action markers were considered the latest technology! After another couple of days out playing paintball with his colleagues and friends, he was hooked - and has been ever since!
In 1990 he formed the Cameronians Paintball Team with a few equally enthusiastic mates. After only a short time playing the UK circuit, the Team quickly became one of the top 3 squads in Scotland!!
Unfortunately, paintball was then banned in Scotland in 1994 making it very difficult for Sandy and his Team to train and play. However in 1997 the ban was lifted, and 'Big Sid' made his ferocious return.
Sid reformed the Cameronians in 1997 and began to build the most respected and formidable team ever to come from Scotland's loins. In 2000 Sid directed a major change in the Team's playing style - as well as their name - and thus The Clan was born.
To better his game and experience over this time, Sid also played Millennium Series for Irish Team Escarmouche, where they also took 2nd and a 3rd in the biggest event in the UK - The Campaign Cup. But that's another story...
In 2003 Sid founded A1 Paintball Nr Edinburgh with veteran team-mate Peter Marshall. A1 Paintball was born through the same passion that bore the Cameronians/Clan, however this very unique Paintball Games Operation was - and still is - managed and marshaled by members of the Clan Paintball Squad. With Sid at the helm of A1 and the Clan, and with all round dedication from members of the Team, Clan are very much a family, and work as hard as they play. Throughout the years Sid has taken the Clan all over Europe and UK, and notiouriously having Scotland's #1 spot already, he's not looking to stop there. With great passion and drive, which he demands from his players, Sid seeks to push the Clan to the top in the UK, and is also pushing the Team's global presence by being the first Scottish Team ever to participate in an NPPL event in the USA.
Now at the ripe old age of 35, Sid is settling back in his couch with his slippers on, to bask in the fruits of his labour....

...Clan are rolling with the biggest season in their history hopefully to come! With a great Team, new training facilities, signings and sponsors, Sid intends to take the Clan name and Team to new heights this year.
